Why

The gap

Ask how many data centers the Philippines has and you get answers between 28 and 44, because each source counts something different and none of them say so. Ask which institutions do AI research and you get a marketing listicle. Ask what the law says and you get a bill described as though it had passed.

None of that helps you decide anything. So this is the boring alternative: 30 research labs, 40 data centers, plus companies, policy and training programs — each with its source shown and its reliability marked.

Method

What the confidence flags mean

Confirmed — the operator or institution disclosed it, or a primary source reported it directly.

Reported — it came from an aggregator, analyst summary or secondary listing that has not been independently verified here. Useful as a lead. Not a fact.

Where two sources disagree, you get both figures, not an average. Where nothing is published, it says so instead of guessing. Older entries are marked when they have not been rechecked recently — institutions change quietly, and a directory that hides its own age is not worth citing.

Who

Publisher and sponsor

ailiteracy.ph is a project of Third Team Ventures LLC, which owns and edits it.

DashoContent is the year-one founding sponsor. Sponsorship covers the cost of running the site and buys nothing else: the sponsor does not own the directory, does not edit it, and has no say over what appears in it. DashoContent is a brand governance platform for regulated brands, and is a separate company under common ownership.

No sponsor, company or institution listed here has paid for placement. If that ever changes it will be disclosed on this page before it appears anywhere else.

Both are also listed in the companies directory, set apart from the rest so you can see the connection and judge them accordingly. Third Team Ventures carries an extra warning there: no independent source covers it, so everything said about it comes from the company itself.

Advocacy

#AILiteracy

The directory grew out of Fleire Castro's #AILiteracy advocacy — the argument that Filipinos should be able to judge AI systems rather than simply receive them, and that this matters more in a country that will mostly be a consumer of models built elsewhere.

That is also why the infrastructure sections exist alongside the literacy one. Knowing who owns the compute is part of being literate about it.
